I worked this out and verified the voicing positions once I saw the video. This should be pretty much dead on.

This song is played in Standard tuning, not dropped D as I first thought. You can see it in the Beacon performance. I also added some extra notes to the chorus that Tim plays that sound good.

guitar_frk, your chorus is dead on (I'll add the slide from the 2-to-3 on the A to start the chorus). The lead up to the bridge isn't right though, you can see Dave playing the 2nd fret on the D string at 2:39 & 3:23 in the Today Show vid. So I'll keep the tab the way it is.

yup,he plays a mixture of it actually. I put some time into tabbing out the Today Show version and this is actually what I've seen him do in other live performances. He looks like he's playing power chords, but actually he's hitting ...

This looks a lot like what he plays live, and I'll change my tab to fit this so people see it first in this thread.

I think you're hearing the right note, but I think he hits an open G because he needs to keep the ring finger on the
B while doing the Verse. I'll adjust tab to add the 0 on the G. thanks maxsoup!

sounds really good. just one thing, i hear the intro as being on the d & g strings, not g & b. you've clearly listened to it more than me, but this sounds better to me.
