here's a few WtWE > LioG: not really blended, just makes sense to do the abrupt end of WtWE and go right into LioG, lyrically makes sense too - the boyz should do this I think... Another note on LioG: I sometimes throw in the lyrics of Space Between in the 2nd jam when it slows down a bit, it's not ...

Re: Lie In Our Graves...tell me
I've been playing LIOG as long as I've been playing Dave songs, but right before the band is about to come in and he plays the Em, Am, G...I just never felt the G there really fit in. Consequently, I never play it. I know it's all about feel and laying your own style to a song, but I was just wonde...

the band fills in so much on this part, it took me a while to hear the lower notes Dave is playing... i play it this way, sounds pretty good w/ D&T version... (not too diff from kanters) Transition E:------------------------------------------- B:------------------------------------------- G:--------...

Not to fully contradict what Monkey said...but from what I've seen, Dave doesn't really mute with his strumming hand. If you want the sublties of his fretting hand.....all that amazing muting is done w/ that. The strumming hand lends to the muting by strumming a certain way, but he generally does n...

Thanks for the help. So for each of these three mutes it's done with the right hand? I've been trying to do it with the left side. If I bar my left hand I can get the sound but it's not the way Dave plays it. He just flails away and it's hard to see what is going on. yeah, just mess around with it ...

Re: Help with Ants
Gombo[/quote] I've practiced this song for a year and half straight and finally feel like i've got it...the muting in this song, is the same/similar quick muting in Rhyme in reason between the stretch chords at the end of the verse riff...to get a good tone, i strum down towards the bridge of the gu...

I'm talking about the slow and fast people stare parts...i know how to play them, i just don't know if the riff is repeated or if you play the verse riff after playing it once through..(if that makes sense.) Dave changes it up for the slow one when he plays with Tim, sometimes he goes right back in...

I used to say the same thing about the same songs, it seemed like the melody was not completely structured over the chords.... but then after playing around with my own lyrics (especially on P.Monkey)...I started recognizing that there is a pattern to the lyrics and I now can find the balance betwee...

I explore a lot on how to combine or segue into and out of songs.... I add some other covers in here and there (kinda seems like Dave is doing this more as the years pass, I love it, it's awesome...) here's a few of mine that I can think of now,.... I have a "dizzy" outro that I use for Nancies (a l...

Re: Help me -> Help Myself, hehe i'm clever..
Can anyone give me some help on the rhythm for the "Summer's here" part of help myself? I'm having trouble figuring out what's going on through the other instruments... Thanks! I love playing this one.. :) Ok, I'll try my best...(find a D&T version, you'll here it) the rythm is 1-2-3/1-2-3/ 1-2/1-2...

Re: Raven: Benaroya Hall
When I listen to it, it just seems differnet from tabs I've seen around...anyone know the tab for the Benaroya Hall version? ~Clare~ It's pretty much the same, his transitions back into the verse are different but the main parts are correct, that's the one I used...I can look at the tab and explain...
