Are there any good instructional videos out there that anyone could recommend for someone just starting to learn the guitar?

the procedure i went through was (quickly) this:

1. learned major open chords from a friend and practiced chord progressions with them for a month. (had no rhythm whatsoever..my hand would not move between strums. hahaha)
practice time: about 2hours a day

2. got lessons. half hour. once a week ...

As for tips , i would suggest you learn as much as possible from resources on the web .. go wo Google.com and search for guitar lessons .... Also learn all the basic chords ....

As for the DMB songs , there was a topic a good ...

I just got a guitar and started to learn how to play this past week. I've never played a musical instrument before so I hope I can pick this up and learn to play well eventually....any tips?? Any DMB songs that are good to start with??
